Acceptance: The Seven A’s of Healing Part 1

Are you at a point in your life when healing from a spiritual, mental or emotional problem is happening very slowly or, actually, not at all?

Too often, what we believe to be our daily responsibilities push the healing our spirit desperately needs to the sidelines. It’s in our nature as humans to delay, deny and reschedule the work of healing for another time, another day, another place.

Anytime but right now!

Ignore those healing challenges long enough and the Pain Teacher — the great awakener — will arrive with a vengeance as a physical manifestation.

When we’re not fully conscious about our need for healing, the Pain Teacher sharpens our vision to crystal clarity, inviting us to face our issues head-on and embrace our potential for growth, healing and awareness.

For the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing a seven-part series of videos I put together that explores the Seven A’s of Healing, based Dr. Gabor Mate’s wonderful book, When The Body Says No: Exploring The Stress-Disease Connection.

Part 1 focuses on acceptance. Living in a state of acceptance is a golden opportunity to embrace reality.

For example, I’ve worked with many clients whose expectations have been very unrealistic based on the physical limits of what they’re trying to pursue.

Accepting and working with those physical limitations, however, gives people the opportunity to take stock of their reality then redirect their energies in new directions that better serve them.

This is a long first session, so have your pens and paper and be ready to take lots of notes.

In part 2 of this series, I’ll discuss awareness, a quality that affects how you see, perceive and handle the world around you.

Love and chi,

Paul
