The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines assertion as the act of asserting something, asserted positively or confidently and in a persistent way.
So, how does assertion play a role in your ability to heal, based on Dr. Gabor Maté’s awesome book When The Body Says No: Understanding The Disease-Stress Connection?
The act of practicing assertion positively, honestly and confidently comes from being very connected to living your dream, something I discuss in greater depth in part 6 of my Seven A’s of Healing series,
Your ability to be assertive is based on how well you define what you want. The most effective way for you to do this: Have a rock-solid dream built on your core values that support your objectives.
Unfortunately, a lot of people have no clue what their dream is. In those cases, figuring out your nightmare — the one thing that, if addressed, would enable you to create your dream — comes first.
If your nightmare is an illness, you already have a clear goal.
In my video, I also talk about a number of principles I use in my own life like the Grand Canyon test, a very simple exercise to examine your dreams too.
Love and chi,
