Breathing: Movement as Medicine

As I’ve said so many times, breathing is essential.

You can live without food and water for days, but you will sustain permanent brain damage in anywhere from 4-6 minutes if you don’t breathe.

Every cell in your body requires a regular supply of oxygen, the basis of oxidation and an essential process of metabolism.

Did you know that, apart from being your main pumping system, optimal breathing is important for maintaining the health of your organs and spinal joints as well as the flow of energy throughout your body?

In the first of this video series, I’ll explain how movement affects countless numbers of functions in our bodies just from breathing to mobilization.

I’ll describe the basic mechanics of good breathing and how we can identify health challenges and imbalances through the Pain Teacher, if we’re paying close attention!

You’ll also discover how emotions and breathing patterns are inextricably linked too.

Love and chi,

Paul
