Integration: The Mind-Body Connection – CHEK INSTITUTE

Written by Paul Chek | Aug 26, 2020 4:00:00 AM

Over this summer, I’ve shared several videos that describe the mind-body connection from various aspects, including love, archetypes and myth.

Each of these amazingly complex concepts encompass a lot of territory all on their own. Integrating all of these things into something healthy and life-fulfilling is something else entirely.

I’m sure you’ve heard me talk about the excellent work of Dr. Dan Siegel on my Living 4D podcast series, especially his definition of the mind: An embodied process that regulates the flow of energy and information.

(As a psychiatrist, Dr. Siegel gives me hope for the medical profession, as he’s such a wise, grounded and doctor capable of teaching real truths to people.)

Your individual mind, ego and personal unconscious are an embodied process. For example, my mind is a unit that functions within the universal mind, your thoughts are the universe’s thoughts and your experience is the universe’s experience…

Think about as above so below, another saying I use quite often. Your thoughts and choices are the impetus by which behaviors or actions take place. Those thoughts, choices and associated behaviors become the governing influences that determine the healthy (unhealthy) state of your body.

Fact is, the mind and body are really one system, like two sides of the very same coin.

Life is a process. It’s not a stagnant thing. And the choices you make — what you eat, how much you sleep and daily movement — regulate that flow of energy and information.

From there, I take a quick look at the Chakra system and how it affects this mind-body connection. (If you want to learn much more about the Chakra system, The Book of Chakra Healing by Liz Simpson is required reading for our Holistic Lifestyle Coaching students once they reach Level 2, and it’s one of the best books about this subject out there too.)

Love and chi,

Paul
