The Practice of Meditation
by Paul Chek
There’s an old yogic saying that goes something like if you don’t go within, you go without…
What that means for you: If you don’t spend time getting to know yourself and manage your own mind, you won’t have any inner peace.
Instead, your life will be racing from task to task and struggle to struggle and you become stressed out and burned out. Then, you’re spending all of your remaining free money on doctors prescribing pills and giving you reasons why you feel so lousy.
This is why it’s so important for you to maintain a balance between your inner relationship and the outward expression of it by going within, the subject of this video.
The practice of meditation is a very simple way of “defragmenting” your brain, and moving it away from obsessing about things that may be important for the moment, but not for very long.
I’ll show you some very simple ways to practice meditation, for example, by reading books full of wisdom that inspire you to think deeply or repetitive movements that help you detach from your ego (I’ve experienced some of my best meditations in gyms).
If you need a suggestion for a inspiring book that can help you reach a deeper state of going within, check out Power Up Your Brain: The Neuroscience of Enlightenment by Dr. David Perlmutter and Alberto Villoldo.
Love and chi,
