Tips For Pain-Free Driving

Tips For Pain-Free DrivingThere’s no doubt, living a sedentary lifestyle is one of the worst things you can do for your health. Unfortunately, most of us in the U.S. make long commutes sitting in a car day after day.

As you’re driving in a sitting position for a long time, not only does this extra pressure flex your spine, it increases the load to your lumbar disc some 40 percent more than if you were standing.

In this scenario, imagine your disc is a jelly doughnut being compressed every day. Over time, things start breaking down, and that jelly starts bulging out and presses on sensitive tissues causing pain in the low back and down your legs.

Sound familiar?

In this video, I describe five health problems associated with, or aggravated by, driving and how to alleviate them by taking some simple, common sense steps. Some are as easy as being more mindful about your posture and carrying a bottle of water with you in the car to stay hydrated.

Because driving is a necessary evil for virtually all of us, take a few minutes to watch my video. Your back will thank you for it…
